CAFDA helps bridge the gap between basic research and applications
The goal of the Center for Advanced Fluid Dynamics Applications (CAFDA), located at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), is to facilitate collaborations with academic organizations, industry, and government laboratories and agencies. We are particularly interested in research directed toward developing technologies for new applications. In addition, CAFDA seeks to participate in the identification of important national technical issues in fluid dynamics, to provide a mechanism for cross-fertilization between related disciplines, and to give researchers access to a variety of unique LLNL facilities and resources.Researchers at LLNL can adapt quickly to new problems
As a national laboratory operated for the U.S. Department of Energy, LLNL is a recognized leader in the field of fluid dynamics. Over the years, we have developed skills and resources encompassing a wide variety of science, engineering, and technical support for fluid dynamics research and development.CAFDA supports collaborations involving theoretical, computational, and experimental projects
CAFDA organizes workshops; hosts speakers for talks and seminars; and sponsors visiting industrial scientists and engineers, university professors, graduate students, and post-doctoral researchers participating in short- and long-term projects. We encourage prospective participants to develop contacts at LLNL and invite them to submit project proposals.
